Privacy Policy for SoftHabit
This Privacy Policy describes how the SoftHabit mobile application ("SoftHabit", "the app") handles information. SoftHabit is developed and published by an independent developer ("I", "me").

1. Summary
SoftHabit does not collect, transmit or share any personal data. The app has no user accounts and no servers of its own, and it contains no analytics, advertising or tracking components. Everything you enter stays on your device. The two exceptions are a purchase and the rating dialog, both of which Google Play handles — see sections 4 and 5.
2. Information stored on your device
SoftHabit stores the following locally, in the app's private storage area on your Android device:
- the habits you create (name, colour, icon, repetition schedule, goal);
- your completion records for each date (a fill level from 0 % to 100 %);
- your reminder times and any breaks you have taken;
- your focus sessions (when one started, how long it ran, and which habit it was for);
- your appearance settings (scene and accent colour) and view preferences.
This information never leaves your device. I have no access to it, and neither does any third party.
3. Information I do not collect
SoftHabit does not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, photos, advertising identifier, device identifiers, or usage analytics. SoftHabit contains no advertising and no third-party tracking software.
4. Purchases
SoftHabit offers a single one-time purchase that unlocks the paid features. The transaction is processed entirely by Google Play. From Google I receive only the fact that a purchase exists for the Google account signed in on the device, so that the app can unlock those features and restore them on a new device. I do not receive and cannot see your payment card details, your billing address, or your Google account details.
Purchases are governed by Google Play's Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.
5. The rating request
SoftHabit may occasionally ask you to rate it. The dialog is drawn by Google Play, using Google Play's own In-App Review service; whether it appears at all is Google's decision, not mine. Everything you type or tap inside that dialog goes to Google and is handled under Google's Privacy Policy. SoftHabit never sees your rating, never stores it, and cannot tell whether you left one. All the app keeps on your device is when it last asked, so that it does not ask again too soon.
6. Permissions the app requests
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) — used solely to show the habit reminders you set up yourself. No notification content is transmitted anywhere.
- Run at startup (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED) — used solely to restore your scheduled reminders after the device restarts.
- Internet (INTERNET) — used solely by Google Play's billing and rating services. SoftHabit itself sends nothing over the network: it has no server to send anything to.
- Foreground service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE) — used solely to keep the focus timer counting while the screen is off, and to show the ongoing notification Android requires for it. Nothing is transmitted; the timer runs entirely on your device.
7. Backups and transfer to a new device
If you have Android's system backup enabled in your Google account settings, Android includes your habits and settings in that backup, and in a direct transfer to a new phone. The backup is handled by Google under Google's Privacy Policy, not by me, and I have no access to it. You can disable it in your device settings. Your record of the purchase is not part of the backup — it is restored from Google Play instead.
8. Deleting your data
Because all data is local, you can delete everything at any time by deleting the habits inside the app, by clearing the app's storage in Android Settings → Apps → SoftHabit → Storage, or by uninstalling the app. No request to me is necessary; there is nothing stored on my side to delete.
9. Children
SoftHabit is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone.
10. Your rights
Since I do not collect or hold any personal data about you, there is no data for me to access, correct, export or erase on request. If you believe otherwise, write to the address above and I will respond within 30 days.
11. Changes to this policy
If a future version of SoftHabit introduces analytics, advertising or cloud features, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the change will be reflected in the app's Data safety section on Google Play.
